I like to tell stories with photos… trying to transmit the passion and effort behind an athletic gesture, the concentration necessary for an action. I am fascinated to capture more personal aspects through a portrait, organizing a set with appropriate lights. More 'simply' I like to observe the streets and tell what I see.
Exploration and versatility are part of me… They have characterized my way of life thanks to mountaineering and caving. These features are necessary in the territory in which I live, where in less than two hours you can climb in short sleeves and then go for ski mountaineering, descending into a cave or climbing an ice fall.
This approach has inevitably affected my photos: I like to play with different styles and subjects. With time I realized that there is one common element into my shots: people.
I started mountaineering when I was a kid and the first camera (compact, analogic, and waterproof) followed me almost immediately, first in caving explorations then in expeditions. The first reflex arrived with a graduation gift from my father, who was also a photographer: two days later I inaugurated it for a week of ski touring on M. Rosa, in a tent. Since then, camera bodies, lenses and flashes have always accompanied me: from one house to another and from one dream to another project, sometimes forgotten in a drawer and buried by books or equipment, but more often always between the shoes and the keys of the van, ready to leave with me.
